Rosemary Extract 5% (Acetone Extracted) is a yellow to brown oil widely used throughout the food and beverage, cosmetic, and personal care manufacturing industries. This variety of rosemary extract is solvent-extracted via acetone from the dried leaves of Rosmarinus officinalis L. and diluted with sunflower oil, yielding a typical aroma of rosemary. This material contains a minimum of 5% carnosic acid, a natural diterpene and antioxidant found in rosemary and sage plants. Due to its antioxidant properties and full oil solubility, rosemary extract is often used as a preservative in prepackaged food items and oil-based cosmetics.
