High Oleic Sunflower Oil is a natural material expeller-pressed from the seeds of the sunflower, botanical name Helianthus annuus. This refined carrier oil has a clear honey appearance with a neutral aroma and flavor profile. High oleic sunflower oil is notably higher in the essential oleic fatty acid, a monounsaturated omega-9 fatty acid, having a minimum of 75% percent. Due to this high concentration of Oleic acid content, this sunflower oil is particularly more stable and resistant to oxidation compared to other carrier oils containing a much lower percent. With a smoke point of around 450 °F, it is largely procured for high heat cooking applications, such as sauteing or frying, and can also be used in place of other neutral vegetable oils for spray coating or baking. In addition to food manufacturing, high oleic sunflower oil yields powerful emollient and hydrating properties in topical skincare formulations, often utilized in cream-based cosmetics, face serums, creams, foundation, and lotions.
